Agri meets Design has been part of Dutch Design Week ever since 2013. This year we present The Embassy of Food – Looking Back to Now! This embassy is part of the World Design Event.
How do we want to grow, process, transport, and eat our food in the future? How will we deal with scarce resources, animal well-being, food waste, and the influence of Big Data and technology in the future?
During Dutch Design Week, in honour of our 5-year anniversary, Agri meets Design, together with the Dutch Design Foundation, will be presenting The Embassy of Food – Looking Back to Now at the World Design Event! Together with designers, The Embassy of Food presents radical views on current and future food issues that visitors will be able to experience and taste. The aim is to challenge the public to think and act as they seem fit to deal with these issues..
The curator of the Embassy is Marije Vogelzang, eating designer and head of the department Food/Non Food at Design Academy Eindhoven. She will make a selection of international, trailblazing concepts.
Marije: ‘The Embassy of Food challenges you to look back from the Future to the Now. Together with designers, food professionals and the broad public the intention is to think big and imaginative. The interactive exhibition is an invitation to everyone who wants to look in a different way to the future of our food and take part in shaping it.’
The Embassy of Food will be a 500m2 pavilion hosting an interactive exhibition, restaurant and conference rooms up to 200 people, located at the main venue of World Design Event at Strijp-S.
The Embassy of Food is open for visitors from 20 – 29 October, during Dutch Design Week 2017.
